Statement Jewels from Head to Toe!

I'm all about the accessories at the moment.  Anything that glitters, shines or sparkles I'm in love with.  The great things about accessories is that 9 times out of 10, you can find some great pieces that won't break the bank, they will update your look and I also find that depending on the accessory that I purchase, it helps me to change my look and be inspired to try something a little different or new.

If you follow my Facebook page, you may have seen a number or gorgeous pieces that I posted from BaubleBar.com which is without a doubt my current favorite for accessories shopping.  There are 4 key accessories trends that I think are worth checking out and then you can find the one that suits you and your look best!

The Statement Earring!

The statement earring is one trend that is not for the faint hearted.  If you love something that's bright, bold and big (which of course I do!) then this is a trend worth giving a go.   Statement earring are great if you have a plain or simple outfit as it'll lift the look and take something that could be quite casual to something that is on trend and dressy.  Once again as you may know I love the heels, boyfriend jeans, t-shirt and blazer look and  adding either a statement necklace or earrings can really add some edge to the outfit without spending a lot.

The statement Necklace

So we  must be heading into season 3 or 4 that statement necklaces are still to die for!  I wear statement necklaces to work and always get compliments on the impact that they make.  Now whilst I may wear the same plain top twice (never in a row of course!) by changing up your key statement piece like a necklace, it can change the whole look of the outfit.   Think about tone of the metal as statement pieces are usually either fairly chunky gold or silver pieces.  Then look at what colours will go with what you have.  I have a number of multicolored pieces that really work with my wardrobe and are key colours that are right for my tone.   The key is to be daring and experiment.  The great thing is that with the likes of Lovisa etc you can try different things out and see what works for you with out drain the bank.

The Brooch

The brooch has been a recent accessory that I've taken too.  Now that we're just heading out of Winter, I found that trying different brooches with winter jackets and blazers really worked.  Fibre glass brooches are everywhere at the moment and there are some really great designs, colours and looks.  Don't just think old Hollywood fashion - although saying that, you can usually never go wrong with a vintage piece.

Hair accessories, crowns and pieces

We're still in Spring Racing Carnival this week with today being Oaks day, but hair accessories, jewels, crowns and flowers have been making their rounds.  I do have an opinion on flower crowns personally, and generally I would say that flower crowns are probably more suited to the 20-something girl. Flowers that are on hats or facsinators are a different story and can be more sophisticated.

The shape and style should suit your face and once again the colour needs to be right.  The great things is that you can try most of these on before buying so finding the right one for you shouldn't been too much of a task!
